Barry Watson

Research Assistant

Barry Watson joined UNB Saint John in 2014 as an Assistant Professor of Economics. He has also taught at St. Thomas University, UNB Fredericton, and the Shandong University of Finance and Economics.His key areas of research include health and labour economics with an emphasis on applied econometrics. 

Dr. Watson holds a PhD in economics from Dalhousie University, which he completed in 2015 and held both a SSHRC Graduate Fellowship as well as a Killam Scholarship during his doctoral studies. He has recently published articles as first author in Canadian Public Policy and the Review of Income and Wealth. 

Outside of academia, Barry is an avid snowboarder and downhill mountain biker.
