Elena Ali

Elena Ali is a Registered Nurse and a Doctoral student under the supervision of Dr. Nicole Letourneau at the University of Calgary. She completed her Diploma in Nursing in Russia, her Bachelor in Nursing at Athabasca University and her Master Degree in Nursing from the University of Calgary. Her Doctoral research focuses on perinatal mental health, maternal-child attachment, and child behavioral outcomes. Elena is currently assisting with conducting a randomized controlled trial looking at maternal mental health and maternal-child interaction quality. Elena’s professional goal is to develop interventions to assist individuals and organizations and to provide new mothers with support and tools they need to be highly engaged with their infants. In her free time, Elena likes to cook, surf, practice Muay Thai, read, and take her two children on hikes to explore nature.
