Experiences from conception to age six have the most important influence of any time in the life

Jennifer Bon Bernard

Jen Bon Bernard is currently a Research Nurse at the University of Calgary working with the VID-KIDS study- a randomized control trial evaluating the effectiveness of a video-feedback parenting intervention for mothers with postpartum depression. In addition to this work, under the supervision of Dr. Nicole Letourneau, she is working on her Masters of Science at the University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine, Community Health Sciences with a specialization in population and public health. Her thesis involves exploring maternal perceptions of the VID-KIDS intervention. Jen's passion is related to reflecting on how we can best offer a compassionate space that allows experiences to be understood in the most authentic manner.  Prior to this, Jen worked in clinical nursing as a public health nurse for several years and graduated with her nursing degree from the University of Calgary. Outside of her professional life, Jen is filled with joy when she is doing yoga, relaxing with a good book, spending time in nature and laughing with her with twin girls!
