Rachel De Barros Oliveira studies how the ATTACH™ program, an early caregiving intervention, builds resilience in families facing trauma and adversity. Her work bridges neuroscience, epigenetics, nursing and psychology to uncover how improving caregiver sensitivity can lead to measurable biological changes in DNA methylation and brain function.
She earned her PhD in Neuroscience from McGill University, supervised by Dr. Guy Rouleau and holds a Master’s degree in Cellular Biology and Development from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Brazil.
Rachel is passionate about improving child and caregiver health and contributing to a future where early interventions and parental support help shape healthier developmental outcomes for all families.
