TECHNOFERENCE INFORMATION FOR PARENTS PROJECT
Impacts of Parental Technoference on Parent-Child Relationships and Child Health and Developmental outcomes: a scoping review protocol
As the use of technological devices grows globally, parental technoference emerges as a concerning factor affecting the quality of parent-child relationships and the health and development of children. Parental technoference occurs when a parent’s use of a technological device disrupts interactions with their child.
In addressing this emerging issue, the CHILD Studies received funding amounting to $39,192 through a grant from the Boris Rochman Fund at the Calgary Foundation. This grant is specifically designated to support the TIPP Program, aimed at mitigating the effects of parental technoference and fostering healthier parent-child relationships.
See the summary of our review below.
We continue to ask questions bout technoference and its impacts on child and youth mental health and development in the APrON study using the questions from the Technology Interference in Life Examples Scale (TILES), Technology Device Interference Scale (TDIS) and the Adolescent measure of technoference using the modified version of the Technoference Scale.
